First of all, a very Happy Easter to everyone! I hope you all had a lovely long weekend and got to relax a little with your loved ones.
I'm ecstatic to say, I spent Easter Saturday night with Lady Gaga! Well not really "with her" with her, but I went to her concert and she was even more amazing than I thought she would be. It gave me goosebumps and I came out an even bigger fan than before. Brilliant, incredible, genius - I can't get over how amazing a performer she is, the room was just buzzing. Here are some photos of a few of her outrageous costumes (as you would expect) and some of her amazing set, complete with a burning piano.
I wore my blazer, black tights, a long, shiny black tank top (with a cool little lightening bolt on it) and heels.
I decided in the spirit of Gaga, I would try something out of my comfort zone and tried to emulate her prison look in telephone. I used Carly's tutorial as inspiration (if you haven't heard of her, you must check her out, she's so very talented) and while it didn't look anywhere near as good as hers, it did work. I had her video open and listened to it as I worked on my face - it actually relaxed me a little as I get really frustrated when I'm working on a more complex look!
Here's how it came out:
MAC Strobe Cream
Giorgio Armani Face Fabric #2
Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer in Light/Medium
MAC Stubborn brown kohl liner
MAC Engraved kohl liner
Lancome Oscillation powerbooster
Shiseido mascara base
YSL Faul Cils mascara
MAC Prep + Prime lip
Revlon Colourstay Lipliner in Wine
MAC Russian Red
MAC Viva Glam 1
When I looked in the mirror after I'd finished, I was pretty shocked and thought maybe it was too much and I should just resort to my normal nude lip combo - you know, play it safe! I felt really self-conscious most of the time but after I got past that, I actually felt OK - almost liberated in a way! That does sound rather lame, but it did feel kinda cool to do something over the top and not feel scared about it. Then you hear Gaga at the concert, someone who doesn't give a shit about what anyone thinks, saying things like "be whoever you want to be" and that kinda jazz - instantly you feel better and realise you shouldn't take yourself too seriously. Wow I'm really gushing aren't I! Anyway, bottom line is - total respect for Gaga!
Have any of you seen this fine piece of woman live?! Did you like her?
